Requirements

  • Zendesk subdomain
  • API token or OAuth credentials
  • Email associated with Zendesk account (for API token)

How to connect

  1. 1.In Zendesk Admin Center, go to Apps and Integrations → APIs → Zendesk API
  2. 2.Click "Add API token" under Settings and give it a description
  3. 3.Copy the token immediately (you won't see it again)
  4. 4.In Open, go to AI Training → Sources → Connect Zendesk
  5. 5.Enter your subdomain (from https://YOUR_SUBDOMAIN.zendesk.com/)
  6. 6.Choose OAuth 2.0 or API Token auth, then enter credentials

  • OAuth is recommended as it simplifies setup significantly
  • Most streams support incremental sync for efficient updates
  • Some streams like Audit Logs require enterprise accounts
  • Two sync types: server-side incremental and client-side filtering
